New Offering: Pet Story Time!
Learn more about my newest offering, Pup Story Time!
Did you know that dogs really love it when we talk to them using sweet, baby-like tones? They love when we tell them they’re a good boy, when we tell them how smart they are, and when we tell them just how much we love them. I’m taking that concept a step further by offering Pet Story Time for my furry friends. Pet Story Time is where I read a selection of children’s books to your dog(s) and/or cat(s) while providing cuddles and belly rubs. Your pets will unwind from the day with a story so they can settle into a sweet nap.
Current reads are a selection of classic Dr. Seuss books (The Cat In the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.) You can learn more about Pet Story Time and other offerings on my Services page.
Volunteering at OTAT PDX
I found myself in an unusual situation for a pet sitter — a free weekday afternoon without the company of dogs or cats. I decided to make the most of it and volunteer at One Tail at a Time Dog Rescue! I got to meet the sweetest puppy by the name of Francis. (More on Francis below.)
Located on the corner of NE Sandy and NE 52nd, OTAT’s mission is "to improve the lives of companion animals by providing humane, individualized care and a chance to know the comforts of a loving home through advocacy, education, and support of those in need.”
I spent my free afternoon with Francis, a playful 9.5 month old puppy with floppy ears and the sweetest face. He’s very smart and is treat motivated — I think he’d learn lots of tricks very quickly. Francis is currently available to foster or adopt from OTAT, as are other sweet pups. OTAT’s next adoption event is Saturday November 8th from 1 - 3pm.
Thanks OTAT and Francis for a sweet afternoon!
Updated Service Area
Updated service area for TJ’s Pet Care.
I’ve updated my service area! I provide pet sitting between NE 15th - NE 60th and NE Alberta - NE Glisan. This covers the following Portland, OR neighborhoods:
Alameda
Beaumont-Wilshire
Irvington
Grant Park
Rose City Park
Sullivan’s Gulch
Kerns
Laurelhurst
North Tabor
Hollywood
A smaller service area means I can provide even better care for your pets. (Less time spent traveling means more time for belly rubs, more time for chin scratches, and more time for cuddling.)
Occasionally I am available to provide service outside of these neighborhoods. If you live outside this area, please feel free to contact me and I’ll let you know if I am available to care for your pets.
